Transparency Task Force(TTF)(From Bristol Meeting until London Meeting) Main Activities in the last 4 months • Development of the WIKI on line information source • Preparing the TTF Progress Report • Planning + Implementation of Edinburgh Meeting • Dissemination of TTF information in order to motivate the adherence of new TTF members (From 2 initial TTF members up to 20 at the present time)

  5. What is a wiki? • A wiki is a type of website that allows users to easily add and edit content and is especially suited for collaborative writing. (Source: Wikipedia)

  6. Nature says Wikipedia is ‘fairly accurate’ • A side-to-side comparison of articles in Wikipedia and Encyclopaedia Britannica revealed a similar degree of accuracy on a range of scientific topics. • In 42 articles, 8 serious errors were identified – 4 came from each source.

  7. Part II Transparency Task Force Workshop at the MEDINE Edinburgh Meeting

TTF Edinburgh Objectives • to demonstrate the Online Resource (OR) to the Task Force and to receive feedback and hopefully support from the Task Force for its further development; • to request suggestions for and to discuss any other areas in which the Task Force should engage; • to confirm membership of the Core Group and of the full Transparency Task Force.

  9. TTC Edinburgh Agenda • Core Group: 2 meetings - Thursday - 5 to 7 pm - Friday - 4 to 6 pm • TTF Workshop (3 hour workshop) - Large Group – “Wiki” Demonstration / TTF Objectives - Group Work - Proposals (3 groups with rapporteur) - Large group - General discussion – reaching consensus

WIKI Entries • Entries include: • Educational concepts and terms, eg, problem based learning, assessment, evaluation…; • Individuals, organisations and medical schools, eg, University of Edinburgh, WHO, AMSE, AMEE…; • Reports and publications, eg, Tomorrow’s Doctors, Swiss Catalogue of Learning Objectives for Undergraduate Medical Training...
