  2. YOUR TEAM IS UP AND RUNNING! • Support Section consists of 12 Advisors and 4 Team Leaders • The Staff continues to pursue CAP’s long and short range Goals and Objectives. • Welcome Maj Steve Solomon as the new National Public Affairs Team Leader.

  3. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTCol Bryan Cooper, Advisor • Working on a standardized RSC curriculum & 6 specialty tracks. • Development of a distance learning version of SLS is progressing. • Conversion to on-line training continues. • Starting work on online Instructors Course for those without a professional instruction background. • OE (Col Pearson) is on schedule w/ beta testing in progress.

  4. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGYLt Col Bill Hughes, Advisor • Now holding weekly IMS Conference Calls to accelerate implementation schedule. • Working IT issues to implement changes required with revisions to CAPR 60-1. • Work on a single qualification record continues—online driver license ready. • CAPR 110-1 revision is in coordination. • “Where Do I Start?” pages in testing—ready for release soon.

  5. AEROSPACE EDUCATIONLt Col Mike McArdle , Advisor • Establishing AE Leadership Teams to assist in the AE Mission. Teams should be running by 1 June. • 5 AE Schools this summer (National, MER, RMR, PCR, and GLR). • Satellite Imagery Project available on the web and DVD. • Continuing to seek additional quality partnering opportunities for AE.

MARKETINGCol Skip Guimond, Acting Advisor • Seeking a new Marketing Advisor. • Working on Simplified Checklist for New CAP Members on How To Qualify for Ops Missions • With NHQ Development Team worked to support FLWG Sun-N-Fun efforts with a new Pilot Recruiting Brochure which will be available to all units.

  7. PUBLIC AFFAIRSMaj Steve Solomon, Team Leader • Working projects developed by the PR Summit incl. CAP Style and Identity (branding) Guide. • Revised PAO Specialty Track w/ supporting documents finalized soon. • Completing PIO ES Specialty Track. • Social Media Committee working on final recommendations for NB/NEC.

MEMBER AFFAIRSCol Rick Moseley, Advisor • AF Sergeant’s Assoc. will sponsor National Cadet NCO of the year Award • Supporting National Committees on HS/ES special promotions and Member Training and status issues. • Working 2010 WAA after action report. • Supported Awards and Promotions Team including the “of the Year” Awards.

AWARDS & PROMOTIONSLt Col Tom Berg, Team Leader • Award and Promotion Waiver continue to be processed within a month—usually less than 2 weeks. • Emergency Approvals have been coordinated in less than a week. • Finalizing a new Award Writing presentation for local use which will be available in the near future. • Added 2 new members to the Team.

  10. GOVERNMENT RELATIONSCol John Swain, Advisor • Extensive follow-up on Leg. Day efforts on restoration of O&M and procurement funds to FY 2012 request. • Planning 2011 JSOH at Andrews AFB. • Two new Congressional Gold Metal Bills in Congress to honor CAP’s WWII service. We need to continue to urge members to ask their representatives to cosponsor this important legislation.

  11. STATE LEGISLATIVE TEAM Lt Col Jeff Wiswell, Team Leader • In the process of building the Team at the Wing & Region Level. When done this network will create an informational platform for 2 way communications. • Continuing to support all Wing and local legislative efforts.

  12. CADET PROGRAMSCol Craig Treadwell, Advisor • Preparing for 2011 National Cadet Competition. • Planning DDR National Character Leadership Symposium. • Working on RCLS curriculum with Lt Col Ned Lee and the NCAC. • Working new Cadet Safety Officer issues • Working on a Canadian Cadet Exchange Program with Lt Col Ned Lee.

  13. National Cadet Special ActivitiesMaj Joe Winter, Advisor • 2011 NCSA applications complete and Wing DCPs/CCs have approved participants. Total applications: Cadet -1,786, Senior – 339. • AF Mandays restored for all! • WE WON!! CAP Team from FLWG won the Commander-In-Chief’s Cup in Cyber Patriot III. • 2011 Activity budgets have been finalized. • Looks for a GREAT 2011 NCSA Year!

  14. DRUG DEMAND REDUCTIONLt Col Jett Mayhew, Team Leader • “Fit For Flying” has been completed and is being distributed. • DDR Directory is being completed for publication. • National red Ribbon week was a great success. • Continuing integration of the DDR Program with Cadet Programs.

SPAATZ ASSOCIATIONMaj Steve Austen, Advisor • Continuing liaison with the Spaatz Association • Aerospace Leadership Scholarships (3 @ $2,500 each) were awarded at the Annual Banquet in DC. • Annual Spaatz Banquet was a big success with over 150 CAP, Air Force, and Association participants. Keynote speaker was Maj Gen Edward Bolton.

  16. NATIONAL CADET ADVISORY COUNCILLt Col Ned Lee, Advisor • Working Cadet Key Knowledge Pamphlet & Cadet Activities Handbook. • Working Fitness, O Ride, Safety, Flight Training, Survival School & DDR Issues • Working on the RCLS Curriculum as well as possible distance learning alternatives. • Working on a potential exchange program with the Air Cadet League of Canada.

  17. “Based upon the Urban Programs report submitted by Col Boyd the National CC has authorized the creation of a new recruiting emphasis covering all sectors of the population.  The details and staffing of this new group are expected to be presented to the Winter NB”. UNIFORM COMMITTEECol Dave Braun, Chairman • Working on a Global Uniform Review as directed by the NB. • Committee Is now conducting bi-weekly calls to meet the NB schedule. • Working on a web based “Uniform Page” for better communication with all CAP members on uniform issues continues. • Comprehensive Report to be presented in Louisville in August.
