Mission Statement The principal mission of the Casual Payment Center (CPC) is the delivery of excellent customer service in the cost effective and prompt processing of payment of casual hires for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Park Service (NPS) and the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS).

Casual Payment Center Staff Kristy Valentine- BLM Center Manager Sandra Braseth-BLM Assistant Center Manager Janet Cahill-NPS Government Lead Amber Vanderschans-BIA Government Lead • The Casual Payment Center is an Interagency Office consisting of four Government staff members. • During the peak season, the staff includes between 30 – 40 staff members (dependent on workload). These staff members are comprised of about 6 contract staff and 20-30 casuals.

CPC Hours of Operation • Regular Business Hours: • Monday – Friday 0745MT – 1615MT • Payments processed daily 1300MT – 1330MT • Peak Season Hours (DEPENDING ON WORKLOAD): • Monday – Friday 0745MT – 1700MT • Extended hours to include evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and/or holidays on an as needed basis with an emphasis on processing timesheets.

  5. Customer Service Provided by the CPC Forms Retained at the CPC: • Federal & State Tax Forms (W-4, State Tax, & Tribal Exemption Forms) • Direct Deposit Forms, Removal of Direct Deposit, and Address Change Forms • OF-288’s submitted for payment Incoming Calls: • Payment Status • Address Changes • Direct Deposit set up • Lost Check inquiries • Employment Verification • W-2 inquiries

  6. Incident Business CenterPayroll Operations Division (POD) Customer service provided by POD: • Child Support • Tax Levies • Garnishments • W-2 Disbursement

Payroll RecordsCalendar Year • Approving Official Batch Memo • Date: Unit Batch Number*: • (*example: NM-BAP-2012-001) • Payroll records are maintained on a calendar year • as opposed to a fiscal year basis. • Batch Number – To make the number unique, starting each January, add the year to the unit batch number (e.g. NM-BAP-2012-001). • Datamart Reports – Most Reports are created on a calendar year basis. • Casual Files – Records are stored on a calendar year basis. Current and previous records on site, two years prior at NIFC, and offsite access to prior years upon request.
