  7. Comments on the workshop • 10 speeches(!!!) for 3 hours, in 2 Sessions • Too tight schedule. 20 minutes for each speech, in 3 sessions would have been much better. • Apologies for the last speakers…. T_T • Grid people have been collaborating with each other so often, in a well-organized way than P2P people do. • P2P people need to PEER with each other first (as well as with application and Grid people), share their ideas, experiences and best practices obtained from what they have been doing. • To dig out new (killer) applications on a high-bandwidth network infra(v4/v6). • To learn from each other, particularly on technologies and application/middleware system design issues and decisions. • Discuss with various other groups • Internet2 P2P WG, IRTF P2P RG, Grid groups, eScience groups, IPv6, … • Any other comments?

  8. The Next 2 Years - Currently serving a role as a loosely-connected forum that bridges p2p people in APAN countries. - Make and strengthen peering relationships with people first!  and from there we expect to make a step forward to define and have some interesting cooperative projects. At least, we can help or support each other’s work/projects in various ways. • That also would be kinda cooperation/collaboration, at minimum level. - Let’s start from connecting P2P people/projects in AP countries NeuroGrid : University of Tokyo (move to University of Hawaii) Personal Power Plant (P3), Karaoke Grid  : AIST Korea@Home : KISTI P2P-based Web caching and FTP caching : KAIST (thanks to Waseda Univ. and NTU) SETI@Home/BOINC : UC Berkeley LionShare : Penn State and Internet2 Internetworking p2p systems : WIDE P2P(IDEON) WG P2P traffic cache : NTT Laboratories Personal Lightweight Grid System : KAIST And Grid People - In Aug 2004 : a 90 minutes’ single session on a few of above projects. - In Jan 2005 : An half/or one day’s Workshop on real P2P systems and experiences.

  9. Possible Topics for Discussion (if any) • (Any interesting) Candidate Topics/Projects to be presented at the Next P2P Session? • Any volunteers or recommendation? • Have you got any items/ideas that you want to propose as a candidate (WG-level) project ? • Do you need anyone else’s help in doing your own projects or papers in some ways? • What else?

  10. Others • Welcome, New members!  • Two active researchers joined us! Dr. Kazuyuki Shudo (P3 project leader) and Dr. Sam Joseph (NeuroGrid project leader) • Looking for a volunteer or a nomination, to shift to a Co-chair system, if any. • Next Meeting • At Cairn, Australia, during APAN Meetings • Any Other Business?

  11. Contact Points - General Discussion : p2p@apan.net - General Contact : p2p-sec@apan.net - Website Address : http://apan.net/groups/p2p/index.html - Chair : Hyun-chul Kim {hckim@cosmos.kaist.ac.kr}
