  1. Personal History • Born- January 19, 1807 in Stratford Hall, Virginia • Parents- Revolutionary hero, Henry Lee and Ann Carter Lee • Attended American military Collage, West Point. • Served in the Mexican war under Winfield Scott’s staff • Arrested John Brown at Harpers Fery, Virginia

Personal History • When the war started, Lee was offered to command the Union army, but he refused because he did not want to fight his homeland and instead, sides with the Confederate army. • He served as a military advisor for Confederate president Jefferson Davis, but was offered a General’s position
