It is more modern and luxurious, like Tashkent, and is the place to visit if you are a fan of quality hotels and shopping. Kokand Kokand city, located on the Silk Road, is one of the most ancient cities in Uzbekistan. The town was an important trade center on the Silk Road and its’ first written records date back to the 10th century. This is the place to visit in Uzbekistan if you are a fan of historical monuments and ancient architecture Termez Termez city is located on the bank of the Amu Darya River and is, again, one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia. This city was subject to war in the early 1200s so you can see many forts, ancient battlegrounds, etc. . Termez is also famous for its ‘friendship bridge’, the border bridge used to cross from Uzbekistan into Afghanistan. Bukara Bukhara is a popular destination for tourists because it has so much to offer. The two best things to do there is visit beautiful and historical mosques and shop in colorful and busy bazaars. The Ulugh Beg Observatory and museum sheds light on the scientific achievements of the city’s 15th-century astronomers Khiva Khiva is a city of approximately 50,000 people located in Xorazm Region, Uzbekistan. According to archaeological data, the city was established in the beginning of the Christian era. It is the former capital of Khwarezmia and the Khanate of Khiva. Itchan Kala in Khiva was the first site in Uzbekistan to be inscribed in the World Heritage List.
