  2. Project Overview Develop students’ research and information fluency in the following areas: Managerial Accounting Revenue Management Leadership & Strategic Management Assist students in Applying digital tools and technology Gathering, evaluating, analyzing data Preparing future projections

  3. Project Objectives Assess current student competencies Develop document to List available digital tools and technologies Lead students’ application, evaluation, and utilization Guide student-created forecasts Knowledge of resources available Ability to identify and evaluate relevant information Utilization of information to make strategic decisions Extend Digital Citizenship Responsibilities in terms of human, societal, and cultural issues related to technology Practicing legal and ethical behavior

Project Plan Before the conference: Identified objectives Information fluency guiding document Junior/Senior level Hospitality Management students Coursework related to financially oriented decision making During the conference: Initiate SOTL resources for student assessment platform Create overview document to share with conference attendees Invite participation across colleges during poster session After the conference: Gather suggestions and inputs from those expressing interest Engage SARC to expand Hospitality Management information fluency tool across colleges Launch student participation in selected courses

Assessment Plan Enhancement of students’ research and information fluency skills Modification of teaching curriculum to address need areas Assessment and guides are transportable Development of the students’ skills Utilization of various digital tools available Student scores will indicate the level of knowledge attained in the same area

  6. Benefit to the University Document for developing students’ research and information fluency skills Recreate meaningful and useful information for making informed decisions or future projections in the area of financial decision making.
