  3. Statistics Module 4.0.01 • New module designed to hold calculated statistical values. • Simple record design comprising: • User-defined hierarchical key • Value (floating point number) • Date and Date Range • Time and Time Range • Pivot report used to interpret statistics stored.

Statistics Module 4.0.01 • Automated tasks populate values hourly, daily, weekly and monthly. • System Administrators may add customised tasks. • Statistical values may be added manually. • Default statistics include: • Operation – Table – User (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) • Records – Table (Daily, Weekly) • Web – Operations (Daily, Weekly) • Logins – User (Monthly) • Sessions (Hourly)

Common geo-referencing tab 4.0.01 • Common mapping co-ordinate fields across clients. • Designed in conjunction with user base (NH-SIG). • Implemented in Sites and Collection Events modules. • Lat/Long conversion precision defined by user base (NH-SIG). • Automatic centroid calculation. • Common fields allows for easier data interchange.

Record Recall 4.0.01 • Applies changes to recall a record to an earlier version. • Auditing module used to “rewind” data. • User left in “Edit” mode to cancel or apply changes. • Batch facility allows multiple records to be recalled to a given date and time. • New audit records created when recall applied. • daRecall operational privilege required. • Registry entry available to force fields to be “skipped”: User|user|Table|table|Recall Skip Columns|column;… Group|group|Table|table|Recall Skip Columns|column;… Group|Default|Table|table|Recall Skip Columns|column;…

Record Templates 4.0.01 • Create multiple copies of an existing record. • XML template description: • Allows fields and text to be copied into other fields. • Prompts user to enter a value for a field. • Provides support for incrementing fields. • XML: same format as used for Import and Report data. • Starting IRN can be supplied to reserve a batch of numbers. • Wizard used to guide user through creation process. • Report produced detailing records created.

Record Templates 4.0.01 • Multiple templates can be created, with security used to limit user access. • New operational privilege, daTemplates, required to create Record Templates. • Useful for: • Creation of parts records from a parent record. • Creation of preparation records for a specimen record. • Reserving a block of IRNs or Registration Numbers.

  9. Groups Module 4.0.01 • Groups module extended to include: • Task management • Multimedia attachments • Notes • Administration fields added: • Description • Purpose • Status • Tailored tabs and reports for Static, Query and Terms groups.

XML Import pre-processing 4.0.01 • Extends Import tool to allow restructure of input XML. • XSLT used to transform XML. • Processed XML can be imported or saved in a file. • Wizard used to walk through transformation process. • XSLT file can be: • Local file • Pre-defined (stored on server) Import XSLT Import XML Input XML Save to file

Common Taxonomy tabs 4.0.01 • Improved support for distinction between ICBN and ICZN. • Four new nomenclature tabs: • Legitimacy - records legitimate / illegitimate names (ICBN) • Availability - records available / unavailable names (ICZN) • Validity - records valid / accepted name of a taxon (ICBN / ICZN) • New tab displaying taxonomic hierarchy. • Link to parent taxon.

  12. Hierarchy Tree View 4.0.01 • Show parent/child relationship as a tree view.

  13. Copy Special 4.0.01 • Specify delimiter to use between rows in a table. • Specify paragraph delimiter. • Allows pasting into Excel without “□” character.

Image Display 4.0.01 • Extended to allow images for empty/non-empty fields: User|user|Table|table|Image Display|column|NULL|image;audio;hint Group|group|Table|table|Image Display|column|NULL|image;audio;hint Group|Default|Table|table|Image Display|column|NULL|image;audio;hint • Use of NULL and NOT NULL value.

Image Resolution 4.0.01 • Allows image resolution (dpi) to be stored in generated images: System|Setting|Multimedia|Metadata|Set|Property|format|Resolution|x:y System|Setting|Multimedia|Metadata|Set|Property|format|Resolution Unit|unit • Images can be displayed using Crystal Reports Picture Object. Image Quality 4.0.01 • Specify the percentage image quality retained for derived images with lossy formats. • Default of 100% implies no loss of quality. • Quality value specified in Resolutions Registry entry.

  16. System Identification 4.0.01 • User name and service added to Status bar. • Useful when running multiple services (e.g. test vs live).   17. Font Selection 4.0.01 • User can select font used within EMu. • Full support for “Big Fonts”.

  18. Multimedia components upgrade 4.0.01 • Upgrade of audio/video components complete. • Full support for Microsoft DirectShow filters (avi, mp3, mpeg, wmv, etc.). Crystal upgrade 4.0.01 • Crystal Report viewer upgraded to Version XI Release 2. • Support for English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.

  19. System Tuning 4.0.01 • Range indexes tuned monthly: • Data examined to provide optimal range searching. • Search indexes tuned weekly: • Indexing information kept on a per record basis. • Information used to generate a configuration based on the actual data distribution rather than an “averaged” distribution. • Results in smaller indexes without loss of speed.

  20. EMu 4.0.02 • Append values to lists when using Import tool: • Support for XML and CSV updates. • New References tab for Conservation module: • Discussion on EMuUsers.org. • Support for right to left languages (e.g. Arabic).

  21. EMu 4.0.03 • Modifying metadata in images: • Support for EXIF, IPTC and XMP. • Drag and drop multiple documents. • Drag and drop zone to add to Multimedia Repository. • Multimedia web service.
