  1. GROUP DISCUSSION CLIMATE DYNAMICS – ALICE GRIMM CLIMATE CHANGE - IRACEMA CAVALCANTI REGIONAL CLIMATE MODELING – JEREMY PAL AND ROSMERI ROCHA

  2. CLIMATE DYNAMICS • Do we really know the mechanisms of the systems that affect the precipitation over South America (or North and Central America or Europa/Spain)? • What are the uncertainties? • What do we need to improve our understanding of those phenomena? • Do we need more collaboration? How can we active this goal?

  3. CLIMATE CHANGE • Will the anomalies change in scenarios of climate change over South America? • How the intensity of natural variability can change in the future? • What are the best tools (numerical or stochastic models) to improve our understanding of the future scenarios? • Despite of the uncertainties can we still aggregate value to the GCM outputs for the future scenarios?

  4. REGIONAL CLIMATE MODELS • Eta or RegCM3 or any other – positive and negative points – are there any real difference? • Downscaling – Is it worthy doing? • What are the best tools that can be used to validate the models? • Are there data to validated the models? Which ones? • Others
