  5. Part of the Solution  A four month community campaign partnering with men and boys in a solution to end violence, both domestic violence and sexual assault, against women and girls.  Men and boys will be asked to model behavior that is “Part of the Solution,” and also have zero tolerance for violent behavior in their friends, families and co-workers.  Part of the Solution also encompasses in-service trainings, workshops, a walk-a-thon and a large media campaign. It encourages community involvement and builds on the collective strength of women and men working together towards a solution against violence.

  8. Make a Stand. Take the Pledge. Become Part of the Solution POS Pledge • I understand… • That what I do and say can either encourage or discourage stereotypes that can lead • to violence against women and girls. • That violence against women and girls can be prevented. • That real men don’t use their power to rape or hurt, either physically or emotionally. • That men and boys play a critical role in breaking the cycle of violence against women and girls. • I promise… • To take a stand and never commit, condone, accept or stay silent about violence against women and girls. • To challenge other men to recognize that they can be powerful without making others powerless. • To be a role model for boys who will then understand that violence against women and girls is never a valid outlet for anger, frustration, jealousy or the need to control. • To encourage all men to work together with women, using their collective voices and resources to END violence against women and girls. Not only in this community, but across the State and Nation.
