  3. What is SHMD 119 about? Sport Didactics and Coaching is fun! You are the COACH. It is about knowing and understanding your athletes and the sport you are coaching.

  4. What is SHMD 119 about? It is about knowing and understanding yourself as a coach. Learning the role of athletes as well as the role of coaches. And various other coaching related aspects….

  5. What textbook are we using in this module? Martens, R. (2004). Successful Coaching Champaign. Human Kinetics.

  6. What else do I need for this module? Notes handed out or reserved for collection at photocopy room – you will be notified of this…

  7. What am I going to do in the practicals? Athletics Track and field

  8. General Important Information • Classes Friday 8:30 – 10:30 – don’t be late . Students later than 10 min will not be allowed in class! • Practicals Fridays 10:30 – 16:30 • Information will be given during class . Please wear appropriate practical clothing 

  9. General Important Information • You have to attend 80% of all classes and practicals to be allowed to write exam!! • We will write 3 tests during the year – dates will be given in advance  - Tests counts 10% of your final mark

  10. General Important Information • Worksheets/Assignments count 10% of final mark • Practicalscount 20% of final mark • Exam count 60 % of final mark .

  11. General Important Information • One end year exam • One end year practical exam • Practical points will be given on attendance as well as practical exam
