  1. 4/4/13 What is Ohm’s Law?

  2. Magnetism Are all objects capable of being magnets? What makes certain elements magnetic? Are all iron objects magnetic? Describe the interaction of different magnetic poles. What are the 3 ways to create a magnet? What are the 2 ways to destroy a magnet?

  3. Magnets If you break a magnet in two – draw the pieces. Is geographic North magnetic North? Draw the magnetic field lines of a bar magnet. How are electricity and magnetism related?

  4. Static Electricity How is static electricity created? What part of the atom is moved from one object to another? What do you call the positively charged ion? What do you call the negatively charged ion? What are the two main factors for static discharge? Is there a electrical potential difference (voltage difference) for static electricity?

  5. Static Electricity What are the three ways of inducting charge? Explain lightning and thunder.

  6. Current What 2 things must you have in order to have electrical current? How is current difference than static electricity? What are the two types of current? What are the two types of circuits? Draw a basic series circuit. Draw a basic parallel circuit.

  7. Current Which circuit requires a larger power source as resistors are added? Which circuit drains more power as resistors are added? What happens to a series circuit if one resistor goes out? How does a fuse work? How does a breaker work?

  8. Current What 3 factors influence resistance? What is I,V, and R? How do you find equivalent resistance in a series circuit? How do you find equivalent resistance in a parallel circuit? Is there a difference between AC and DC for current in a parallel circuit?

  9. Draw a series circuit with a 12V battery, a switch, 3 resistors (1,2,3 Ohms), and a fuse. What is the current of this circuit when it is open? What is the current of this circuit when it is closed?

  10. Draw a parallel circuit with a 12V battery, 3 paths each having one resistor (2,4,5 Ohms), and fuse? What is the equivalent resistance? What is the total current?

  11. What is the purpose of a transformer? What are the two types of transformers? Draw how they work? Why should you turn the main breaker off if you use a generator during a power outage? Draw a combined circuit.
