  2. What do sharps do? • Sharps raise the pitch of a note one-half step. What do sharps look like? #

  3. Sharps (#) are always in this order:

  4. Identifying Key Signatures for SHARPS (#)OPTION 1 • STEP 1—Count how many sharps there are in the key signature. • STEP 2—Take that number and count up through the order of sharps (FCGDAEB). • STEP 3—From there, skip one and that is your key signature.

  5. Identifying Key Signatures for SHARPS (#)OPTION 2 • STEP 1—Count how many sharps there are in the key signature. • STEP 2—Take that number and count up through the order of sharps (FCGDAEB). • STEP 3—From the last one, go up ½ step on the lines and spaces.
