Progress so far (1) • VBDC Comm. strategy and projects’ comm. operational plans drafted • Bilingual website running properly and attracting more and more users • Revamped wiki site to facilitate online collaboration among VBDC researchers • Various stakeholder engagement activities took place (e.g. forum on agri water; VBA & GWP network meetings; project platforms; field tour & reflection workshop; etc.)

Progress so far (2) • Updates on the VBDC research sent out to stakeholders regularly • Effective use of comm tools/channels developed by CPWF global program (e.g. CG Space; Yammer; SlideShare; etc.) • Key documents produced include dissemination materials (flyers, brochures, posters, un/processed video pieces), working papers, conference papers, press articles, and blog pieces • Revamped wiki site to facilitate online collaboration among VBDC researchers

Major opportunities • A short bilingual documentary video to disseminate intermediate or final research results through national TVs in Burkina Faso & Ghana • Translate intermediate or final research outputs into digestible messages to be disseminated through community radios in intervention areas • VBA & GWP networks and the Learning Group on WRM are used to facilitate the uptake of VBDC research results by policy-makers and water managers

  5. 3. Critical gaps • Need to get expert support in drawing out, synthesizing, repackaging key messages generated by research projects • Monitoring the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement
