  2. Objectives Clearly convey the Spring 2011 SLO Assessment Outline & Assignments briefly review the “at your fingertips” web SLO resources reinforce that the SLO Assessment Process is and should be simple, doable, and meaningful

Semester / Syllabus Essentials PLEASE NOTE: There is no new SLO related work that is required to be submitted during Spring 2011 AND Micah and Devon are delighted to be of any support Course Outcomes and Assignments • Conduct simple, “doable,” and meaningful SLO Assessments in accord with your department’s six year SLO Assessment Plan. Engage in “closing the loop” discussions with department colleagues based on the gathered results from the assessments. Continue positive progress toward 2012 “Proficiency” Goal

  6. ASSESSING SLOS “The purpose of assessment is to improve learning” (Angelo, 2000). “Assessment is a dynamic pedagogy that extends, expands, enhances, and strengthens learning” (Driscoll, 2001). ACCJC defines assessment as: the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development.
