  1. Why EcoStar?

  2. Marc EllisonV.P. of Operations

  3. Save fuel expenses and maintenance labor by automatically eliminating unnecessary idling

  4. Each pilot vehicle in Sacramento saved an average of 113 gallons of fuel & 2100lbs of CO2 over the course of 12 months* *without optional thermistor

  5. Facts • Every hour of idle time uses 0.61 gallons of fuel • Every gallon of gas produces 19lbs of CO2 • Every hour of idling is equal to 25 miles driven.

  6. Facts • Vehicle mfg. are now paying more attention to idle time vs. miles driven when it comes to warranty claims 1.5 hrs/day x 25 miles x 5 days x 50 weeks = 9,375 additional miles of driving Add up all of the extra maintenance costs

  7. Facts • You waste more fuel if you idle for more than 5 secondsthan restarting a warm engine. • More states, counties, & cities are adding anti-idling regulations every year. • You do not have to impact passenger comfort • WA has 5th highest fuel prices in the country. (AAA report)

  8. Features • Fully automatic • Electrical accessories continue to function with engine off. • Low battery voltage will auto restart. • Shut down inhibit input. (e.g. A/C “on” or Lift in “use”) • Optional thermistor to restart if vehicle temp is too hot or cold. • No special skills for driver to learn.

  9. How it Works • Put vehicle in Park • If safety & operational conditions are met, engine turns off, battery power still available • Engine auto restarts: • On Low battery voltage • On Hot or Cold Temperature • Brake pedal pressed

  10. Safety Conditions Must Be Met Before Shutdown • Transmission in Park (vehicle not moving) • Engine at normal operating temp. • Service brake not applied • Hood Closed

  11. Safety Conditions Must Be Met Before Shutdown Cont. • Battery must have sufficient charge • Engine speed less than 1100 RPM (High Idle) • Outside temperature above 32ºF & below 100ºF (Temps can be changed)

  12. Customizable • Idle Shutoff Timer • Minimum & Maximum Operational Temperature • Minimum Operational Engine Temperature • Brake Pedal Restart • Vehicle Interior Temperature (optional thermistor)

  13. Customizable Cont. • Main & Secondary Battery • Restart Threshold Voltage Level • Recovery Threshold Voltage Level • Recharge Period

  14. Shut Off When Door Open Video

  15. Restart w/o Key Video

  16. The All Important ROI • Faster ROI if in the state spec • CA has Eco-Star as optional – est. 4-5 mos. • Will vary based on your settings • Wider ranges, more savings • Higher the fuel cost the faster the ROI • We have a spreadsheet to calculate your ROI

  17. Instructions • Videos • Brochures • Downloads • Diagnostics • And more…
