What is Hypertension? Sustained elevated blood pressure (BP) High BP can cause damage to heart muscles, the brain, kidneys and other organs Can also cause: stroke, heart attack, and coronary heart disease, or death Can be caused by: Heredity, high salt intake, obesity, and stress (anger)
Systolic Blood Pressure120/80 • The highest pressure or value • Occurs during heart contraction phase (ventricular contraction)
Diastolic Blood Pressure 120/80 The lowest pressure or value Occurs during heart relaxation phase (resting or refilling stage of the contraction)

The higher category should be selected to classify the individual's Blood Pressure .

Ways to Reduce Hypertension Reduce your weight Lower sodium intake less than 5 grams\day Increase fruit and vegetable consumption Avoid Coffee, Tea, Cola. Reduce or quit smoking Regular physical activity (walking, swimming, running etc.) Relaxation Medication
Hypertension is a chronic disease. SO you should take your medicineregularly as your doctor advise.
