  2. ACNA’s, OCN’s and BAN’s for Local Service • To provide customers with an understanding of ACNA’s, OCN’s, Q Accounts and N Accounts and how they are used for ordering and billing of Local Service

  3. ACNA’s • Access Carrier Name Abbreviation (ACNA) • Identifies the abbreviation of the access carrier. • Consists of 3 Alpha characters • How and When Used for Local Service • ACNA’s are used when ordering facility-based local services • ACNA’s are assigned by Telcordia Technologies http://www.telcordia.com

OCN’s • Operating Company Number (OCN) • Uniquely identifies the Operating Company offering local service • Consists of 4 alpha numeric characters • Required when ordering all local services • Used in ordering, provisioning and billing of local service • Assigned and maintained by NECA • http://www.necaservices.com • Assigned by Category • Simple Resale = Reseller Category OCN • UNE/UNE-P/LNP = See NECA requirements listed on the NECA website • BellSouth does not advise customer on type of OCN to purchase • OCN category will be determined based on the CLEC’s business plan and in accordance with NECA standards

BAN’s – Billing Account Numbers • Identifies the billing account to which the recurring and non-recurring charges will be billed for switched access, special access and local services. • The BAN is the Billing Account Number for Carrier Access Billing System (CABS) and Customer Records Information System (CRIS) billed customers. • The first three-byte characters are numeric. • The second three-byte characters are alphanumeric (A through Z) and numeric (0 through 9), no blanks, no dashes. • The third four-byte characters are numeric. • The fourth and last three-byte characters are all numeric Example: 404N049999 999

  6. BAN’s – Billing Account Numbers (continued) • Leaving this field blank on a Local Service Request (LSR) will result in a clarification/rejection of the LSR.   7. Q Accounts • One established per Regional Accounting Office (RAO) • 12 RAO’s in BellSouth Region • Alabama; Kentucky; Louisiana; Mississippi; Tennessee; Atlanta, GA; Macon, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Miami, FL; North Carolina; South Carolina • Created specifically by type of local service ordered • UNE-P • UNE loops • LNP • Resale • The Q Account is the Account Number assigned to Customer Records Information System (CRIS) billed customers • Format includes a ‘Q’ as the fourth position of the account number, i.e., 205-Q92-1000-100

  9. ‘N’ Accounts – Facility Services • Referred to as Facility Accounts • Used for billing local interconnection services or design loops. • This type of an account will not have usage charges. • Established by LATA • A customer can have more than 1 ‘N’ Account per LATA • Requirements to establish BAN • Valid Access Customer Terminal Location (ACTL) • Denotes the common language location identification (CLLI) code of the Interexchange Customer’s terminal location which is assigned by the exchange company. • 11 character code • OCN • ACNA

Account Number Structure – ‘N’ Accounts (continued) • The account structure is a thirteen character field that is broken down into five parts. • NPA – Three character field denoting the geographic NPA of the state from which the account bills. • Account Type – One character field denoting the account type. • Bill Period (BP) – Two character field denoting which of the ten monthly CABS Bill Cycles a specific bill is rendered. • Line Number – Four character field • Customer Code – Three character field • Example: • 404 N 04 9999 999 • Georgia Facility Fourth BP Line Number Customer Code
