Theme: “Rights and Responsibilities in History” • All History Fair assignments and information will be posted on my class website under the NHD tab. • http://www.nhd.org/ is the National History Day Fair website and will also be a valuable resource. • Seminole County History Fair February 22nd (our school fair will be 3-4 weeks before)
Theme: “Rights and Responsibilities in History” • In your project, you need to • Explain the who, what, when, & where and why about your topic • Explain the topic’s relationship to the theme • Explain how the topic impacted (changed) history, significance
What your Project Needs to IncludeTheme:“Rights and Responsibilities in History” • Title • Thesis (topic, main idea) statement • Historical context: short explanation of the history of your topic • Theme relationship explanation • Impact or significance in history • Annotated bibliography (list of resources) • Process paper (description of how you did your research)
How You Present Your InformationTheme: “Rights and Responsibilities in History” • You choose the format that you present what you learned • Exhibit (Mini museum display) • Website

Exhibit 1 or 2 Students “Mini museum display” Free standing board
An exhibit can include a Model.
Addresses the theme
Exhibits can be up to 6 feet in height.
Audio/Visual equipment can be used.
An exhibit does not have to be on a display board.

Checklist • Presentation (ex., web, doc., paper, perf.) • Title • Thesis • Historical context (Timeline) Explain the who, what, when, & where and why about your topic • Explain the topic’s relationship to the theme • Conclusions/Impact: Explain how the topic impacted (changed) history, significance • Rules: word count, size, time limit, etc. • “Paperwork” • Title Page: Name, title, category • Annotated Bibliography (primary sources listed 1st) • Process paper (answer 4 questions, ≤500 words)
