  4. Vocabulary (part 1) • Social -related to human interaction • Cultural- related to groups that share common beliefs, practices, and traditions

  5. Cultural = groups share common beliefs, practices, traditions Social = human interaction

  6. Vocabulary (part 2) • Signs- symbolism, signification • Systems - any set of interacting or interdependent entities (things, beings, articles, etc.) that form an integrated whole. • Structures- differ from systems • structures are typically the result of human planning, • rigid, and • exercise some form of power or agency over others (may be civic, institutional, corporate, economic, etc.)
