Simile A phrase that uses the words like or as to describe someone or something by comparing it with someone or something else that is similar The fans ran toward the celebrity like moths to a flame.
Personification The practice of representing a thing or idea as having the qualities of a person. It was such a gorgeous day, I was sure the sun was smiling down on us.
