  3. Definition of Long Code Long Code(e.g. 617-500-2900), also known as a Virtual Number, DID, or SMS enabled Land Line, is a mechanism that allows a normal Land Line to receive and send SMS messages and voice calls. As well as being internationally available, Virtual or Landline numbers enable businesses to have their own number, rather than short codes which are generally shared across a lot of brands, as well as, have a limited reach. Not all cellular service providers allow short codes on their networks.

  4. TSG Long Code Versus Short Code

  5. Short Code is confusing as heck

  6. TSG’s FlexTalk SMS bridges the gap between wireless and wireline subscribers driven by consumer demand for ubiquitous messaging services across various access technologies. TSG enables text messaging for devices and subscribers assigned “fixed” numbers utilizing carrier-grade fully redundant platforms, for wireline to wireless messaging. We provide accurate routing of messages using real-time updates from industry Local Number Portability databases.

  7. TSG Long Code Applications Person-to-Person Text Messaging Person-to-person text messaging is the most commonly used SMS application and it is what the SMS technology was originally designed for. A call center or contact center is another kind of person-to-person text messaging application that allows a group of people to exchange SMS text messages interactively from either a unified communications service or web based application. In these applications, all SMS text messages sent and received are displayed on the mobile phone's screen of the recipient in order of date and time. Two-way Interactive Text Messaging Applications SMS messaging technology can be used as the underlying communication medium between wireless devices and DIDs in a two-way interactive text messaging application. For example, a company may want to build an SMS messaging application to enable its employees to query the corporate database while they are working off site. Account holders to get real time balance alerts and updates. Etc…

  8. TSG Long Code Applications SMS Interaction Applications SMS messaging can be used as a interaction tool. An example is an SMS application used for customer feedback that allows for a higher response rate due to the acceptable ease of use methodology. If a radio station wants to allow its DJ to interact directly or have the user respond to a contest they can use this service and accept both text and voice requests. This allows for a more robust end user experience. This service can also be used for doctors offices to set appointments, drug stores notify clients their prescription is ready, trouble ticket response mechanism, rewards programs to access immediate usable coupons. Speaker events where the audience can have live participation and interaction with the speaker. Games and many other verticals that would use a user to user interaction via mobile device.

  9. The TSG Advantage! • Real Time Message Delivery, which provides real-time processing of • messages versus batch message delivery • Ability to enable text messaging to work over a DID • TSG Global systems are updated real-time, where other 3rd party providers • receive updates daily or weekly • Interoperability Expertise – All TSG Engineers are fully qualified to support services • TSG’s Unified Billing Platform- Whether it is a look up record, voice call, sms message or any transaction in our system the CDR is the same and maintained in N+1 DB East/West Coast geographic redundancy • Established business relationships with Wire-line Telephone Number Providers • LNP Dominance nationwide

  10. The TSG Advantage! •   No carrier approvals needed to implement TSG long-code • More cost affective versus short-codes (which are $500-$1000/month per shortcode) • The ability to text from any phone. Short codes only work with select wireless networks • Short-codes are not voice enabled so customers can't call to their short-codes • Short codes are labor intensive to process, implement, deploy and maintain • The ability to use the 10 digit phone numbers is an easy one • The ability for us to acquire a TN as opposed to a short code allows for massive amounts • codes via TN assignment and allows for you to assign individual DIDs as opposed to • single short code on a specific wireless network • Though short codes are useful they are restricted and the whole evolution of all telecom • will eventually adjust to long code technology, due it’s obvious advantages

  11. Existing TSG SMS Markets • SIP enabled messaging desktop applications & phones are available today • TSG SMS enabled DID’s is currently being deployed by TSG clients in multiple verticals including: • IP PBX’s companies (as an embedded technology), banking & financial institutions, healthcare industry, utility companies, A/R & collections verticals, Law Enforcement, Government & Municipalities, Healthcare industries, also via thin clients, applications & myriads of GUI & dB based commercial applications across 2 way ubiquitous networks not tied only to cell phones.

  12. TSG customize SMS to Email Integration • Tie the bridge between the mobile world and your Email applications to allow for a myriad of “peer to peer” applications • Full Turn-Key Solution • Development NRC and MRC’s apply based on the scope of the project

  13. ENHANCED DIGITAL SMS-IP CUSTOMER – SMS Messaging User signs agreement with TSG for assigned wireline numbers & SMS service.

  14. 3 Connection Methods The Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) protocol is a telecommunications industry protocol for exchanging SMS messages between SMS peer entities such as short message service centers and/or External Short Messaging Entities. It is often used to allow third parties (e.g. value-added service providers like news organizations) to submit messages, often in bulk. ( Greater Speed versus HTTP) Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an Application Layerprotocol for distributed, collaborative, hypermedia information systemsHTTP is a request-response protocol standard for client-server computing. In HTTP, a web browser, for example, acts as a client, while an application running on a computer hosting the web site acts as a server. The client submits HTTP requests to the responding server by sending messages to it. The server, which stores content (or resources) such as HTML files and images, or generates such content on the fly, sends messages back to the client in response. (URL Based – easiest to implement)
