  1. Gustar literally means “to find pleasant”. • Using gustar we usually refer to objects. • ¿Cómo se conjuga “gustar”? Gustar Gustar is used with indirect object pronouns to say what pleases people.

  2. Necesitas Indirect object pronouns • Gusto • Gustas • Gusta • Gusta • Gustamos • Gustan • Me • Te • Le • Nos • Les The I.O.P is placed before the verb gustar. Ej. Me gusta la pizza.

  3. Me gusta la ensalada. The salad is pleasing to me. • The I.O.P agrees with the person who is pleased. • Ej. Yo • The verb conjugation agrees with what is pleasing according to whether it is singular or plural. • Ensalada is singular so “gusta” is used. For plural objects “gustan” is used.

  4. Yo Las flores Me gustan las flores.

  5. ú Tú El libro Te gusta el libro.

  6. Las motocicletas Él A él le gustan las motocicletas.

  7. ¡Añadan énfasis! • A mí me gusta hablar español. • A ti te gusta hablar español. • A él le gusta hablar español. • A nosotros nos gusta hablar español. • A ellos les gusta hablar español. The I.O.P must agree with the subject. El verbo,gustar, tienequeestar de acuerdo con lo queesagradable al sujeto. The verb, gustar, must agree with what is pleasing to the subject.
