INCOLAB, SC meeting 3CMI, Prague, Czech Republic5th December 2003 INCOLAB, 3rd SC meeting Incolab activities in Slovenia University of Ljubljana Faculty of Electrical Enginering Laboratory of Metrology and Quality (LMK) Tržaška 25, SI - 1000 Ljubljana, SLOVENIA Project co-ordinator: Prof. Dr. Janko Drnovšek Project Assistant: Igor Pušnik Igor Pušnik
INCOLAB Slovenia meetings • Prior to the study visit of LVD experts to The Netherlands (LMK-2, TCL-2, TIRS-1) • Intercomparison (TCL, SIQ) • Training in LVD (organized by LMK and TCL in spring 2004, training free of charge for NAS experts in LVD, 4 working days (2 at LMK + 2 at TCL)) Igor Pušnik
Visits and training of Slovenianexperts • Visit to Denmark (DFM, Risoe, Delta, UL Demko, DTI), 5 experts for 3 weeks • Training in the scope of 4-day workshop “Advanced Mathematical and Computational tools in Metrology”, 4 experts • Study visit to the Netherlands, 5 experts for 2 days • Active participation during the Prague conference, 6 experts Igor Pušnik
Task 1.1 - Intercomparison • Novel approach (emphasis on ISO/IEC 17025 requirements) in the field of testing of safety of household appliances (testing of heating) • Number of participants: one laboratory per country (7), except another two from Slovenia (TCL, SIQ) • Pilot laboratory - LMK (prepared protocol in summer 2003) • Realization in 2004 (schedule prepared in summer 2003) • Measurements of stability of potential test items during 5 months (July to November 2003) • Results and analysis of intercomparison in 2005 Igor Pušnik
Tasks 1.2 - Traceability in testing • Case study - testing of heating in black test corner (ISO/IEC 17025, traceability, analysis of uncertainty budget); High priority for 2003 • Detailed analysis of uncertainty budget and traceability requirements was performed during the summer 2003. It will represent the basis for evaluation of results of the foreseen intercomparison in testing Igor Pušnik
Task 1.5 - Generalisation of traceability in LVD • Case study - testing of ear thermometers • Analysis of requirements of Medical Device Directive (MDD) related to the current status of traceability and uncertainty problems in the field of clinical ear thermometers • Check of the Slovenian translation of the MDD with emphasis on technical terms • Development of several blackbodies, ultra-stable water bath, measurement of emisivity samples, calculation of emisivities of blackbody cavities (presentation of results at the world conference TEMPMEKO 2004, Dubrovnik, Croatia) • Realization under way in cooperation with the NMi, finished by the end of 2004 Igor Pušnik
