To expand facilities to meet existing demand and estimated local population growth up to 2030 To increase participation in sport and physical activity To improve the quality and efficiency of District’s main leisure facility To improve the wellbeing of the local community, through access to high quality leisure facilities City Council Objectives

  4. September 2015 WCC Cabinet decided the preferred location for a leisure centre, if affordable and deliverable, is to the east of the University of Winchester Sports Stadium, at Bar End. July 2016 the facility mix of the centre was agreed November 2016 the owner of the Garrison Ground agreed terms to sell the site to WCC Update
