Film language to Shape realism • Documentaries use different techniques to make it as real as possible and get the audience placed into the action that is going on, the different techniques are: • Natural lighting • Location shooting • Voiceovers • Archive Footage • Handheld Camera Work • Interviews
Different shots • Introductory Shot – An introducing Interview but showing them doing something other than being interviewed • General View – Establishing shot or a wide shot where the action is taking place • Wallpaper Shot – Is a shot to fill up any time if there is voiceover that is longer than the footage it is showing • Geography Shot – Location Shot • Cut Away – Used to shorten an interview
