You will work in (assigned) pairs. • You will have the rest of today and all of tomorrow to complete. • Each individual must do their own paper for Station 1. • Each pair must do Stations 2 and 3 together and turn in one paper for both partners. • Make sure your name is on everything to be turned in!
Station 1 • Independent Work Station • Determine which food items from the menu would turn a profit and are worth putting on your menu. • Which items are worth keeping on the menu and which should you remove because there is no profit for the restaurant. • In each of the boxes subtract the restaurant’s cost and the customer cost to determine which of the menu items is causing the restaurant to lose money.
Station 2 • Work with your partner. • Rank the items in order using a 1 to indicate the menu item that results in the biggest profit, a 2 to indicate the menu item that results in the second highest profit, etc. A number 15 should be next to the menu items that turns the least amount of profit.
Station 3 • Work with your partner. • Choose your favorite item from the menu and use this to solve the problem below. Draw a picture of this food item on a separate paper. Provide enough room for your work process. • A group of 20 high school students just walked into your restaurant. They are a group of football players and cheerleaders from Greeneville High School, here to celebrate their victory over Morristown West. Each of the 20 studetns decided to order your favorite menu item. • How much money did this group of students spend on your favorite menu item? • How much did it cost the restaurant to make 20 portions of this menu item? • How much profit did the restaurant receive from your favorite menu item?
