  4. Human & Physical Features Things in Colombia are improving more and more. For example, the infant mortality in Colombia is more than 3 times greater than the U.S. In addition, the literacy rate is 7% more than the U.S. In the past couple of years, Colombia’s life expectancy has improved by 4.2%. The numbers of doctors in Colombia have also improved an amazing 16.4%! In conclusion, Colombia is starting to improve and most likely will keep improving. Here is one of Colombia’s physical features.

  5. Colombia’s Flag The Colombian flag may look simple, but there aremany things you don’t know about this beautiful flag. First of all, there is no official meaning of the Colombian flag; however there are 2 popular theories behind the flag’s colors. One theory says that yellow symbolizes sovereignty and justice, blue is nobility and loyalty; and red is honor, and victory through bloodshed. The second one says that yellow is universal liberty, blue is equality of races and social classes, and red means fraternity. Aside from the flags unknown meaning, it is also one of the world’s oldest flags. Also, this simple flag doesn’t just representthe countries freedom, but is also used in soccer games. In conclusion, this flag is a beautiful piece of simplicity that shows this amazing it is.

  7. Religion Christianity is a religion very important to Colombia. After all, 90% of the people in Colombia practice Christianity. Christianity was founded on belief of Jesus Christ in C. 30 AD, Israel. In Christianity there is one God and a trinity consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In addition, when you die, Christians believe that you either go to eternal heaven of hell. They also believe that in order to go to heaven , you have to pray, study the Bible, get baptised, and go to church. In conclusion, Christianity is very important to Colombia and alway will be.

  9. Animals, Plants, & Natural Resources Colombia is full of exotic animals and beautiful plants. The Cotton-top Tamarin is critically endangered and is one of the rarest primates in the world. In addition, the Cotton-top Tamarin is one of the smallest primates in the world weighing less than 1.1 lbs. The colorful puffleg is a beautiful and endangered hummingbird only native to Colombia. Also, these hummingbirds only have a population of 750-999 adult birds. One of Colombia’s many plants is the Victoria Regia. The Victoria Regia is the largest of the Nymphaeaceae family of water lilies. Furthermore, this gigantic plant was named after the one and only Queen Victoria.
