The Greek Verb • Parakaleō, a compound of para [beside] and kaleō [to call], occurring 4x, means • to ask to come and be present where the speaker is, call to one’s side • to urge strongly, appeal to, exhort, encourage • to make a strong request for something, implore, entreat • to instill someone with courage or cheer, comfort, encourage, cheer up; etc.
