Module 5: Collecting Data • First we have to get back into our survey • 1. Log onto SurveyMonkey by going to the website at http://www.surveymonkey.com • 2. Click sign in upper right hand corner. • 3. Enter the CSE user name CSEGraduatePrograms and password. • 4. Click “My Surveys” and locate your survey. Collecting Data with Survey Monkey Spring 2012
Click the collect tab in the middle on the right • Now go to the middle right and click the second gray tab “Collect.” • We use create a link for an email invitation. Feel free to use the other options. • Click the default • Use the link in the first gray box in your email invitations to complete the survey. You can customize the link. Click Change Settings on the left hand side • Decide about multiple responses. • Make decisions about next options. Pros and cons of displaying instant results. • Be sure to edit Survey Completion page and insert a custom URL. You may use the College home page, the home page of your graduate program, or a page from your host site (school, school district, hospital) Be sure to verify that you have the URL you want just before you send your survey. • Be sure to disallow the collection of IP addresses, a CSE IRB requirement. Review Change Restrictionsby clicking left hand side • You can make your decision about a cut off date. • I cannot imagine why you would want to cutoff responses, and the other options probably do not apply. • If you need to add responses that were collected manually, click and enter.
