  3. Sanitary Sewer Replace sagging and reverse grade sewer lines Proactive approach to reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) problems Primary source of I&I is main lines and service laterals EAST BEACH OBJECTIVES

  4. EAST BEACH OBJECTIVES Sanitary Sewer • Reduce odor problems • Reduce maintenance service calls for East Beach area • Provide for better wastewater transmission via a pump station behind the Coast Guard station

  5. EAST BEACHOBJECTIVES Water System • Improve pressure within the system and fire flow capabilities Storm Drainage System • Improve drainage to relieve localized flooding

  6. Contractor is Douglas Electric and Plumbing Company of Douglas, GA Notice to Proceed December 17, 2007 Total project cost is $9.1 M EAST BEACH PROJECT STATUS

  7. SCHEDULE • Preliminary Start of Construction Early January 2008 • Construction Period 18 Months • Estimated Completion June 2009

  8. SERVICE LINE RESTORATION Homeowner Responsibility • Sanitary sewer service line installation on private property will be the responsibility of the homeowner • Water service line installation on private property will be the responsibility of the homeowner

  9. SERVICE LINE RESTORATION Glynn County Responsibility • All water, sewer and drainage construction within the public rights-of-way and easements will be performed by Glynn County • New radio read water meters will be installed in the East Beach neighborhood

  10. PUBLIC PROPERTY • Streets will be repaved • Contractor will seed all disturbed areas upon completion of work • Landscape plants will not be restored • Permanent structures on rights-of-way will not be restored • Walls, Brick Mailboxes, etc.

  11. PRIVATE PROPERTY • Driveway restoration of paved driveways will be limited to plain concrete or asphalt • Irrigation systems in the rights–of-way will not be restored

  12. COMMUNICATION • Letters to property owners • Door hangers • Glynn County website www.glynncounty.org • Verbal notification

  13. COMMUNICATION • Public Meetings • CGL will be the primary point of contact during the construction phase for homeowners
