  8. What is the purpose? The room was cold. It was a kind of cold that chilled your spine and numbed your toes. The reflection of the sun shining through the clear window on the slick waxed floor pierced my eyes. What was I thinking? The crackling loud speaker was announcing orders to arrest me on sight.

  9. What is the purpose? • A little boy asked a teacher to put on his boots. The teacher struggled with the boots, but finally got them on the boy’s feet. The boy cried, “They are on the wrong feet!” The teacher took them off and put them on the right feet this time. The boy cried, “These aren’t my boots!” The teacher wiped the sweat from her forehead and took them off again. The boy cried, “They are my brother’s; my mom made me wear them today.” The teacher couldn’t believe her bad luck! She struggled, pushed and pulled to put the boots on again and asked the boy for his mittens. The boy said, “They are in my boots!”
