Steps of DNA Replication • 1. Enzyme (helicase) unzip a molecule of DNA. • 2. Hydrogen bonds between base pairs are broken, 2 strands unwind. • 3. Each strand serves as the template for the attachment complementary bases. • 4. DNA polymerase brings in DNA nucleotides complementary to the exposed bases.
