In Touching Spirit Bear, the main character, Cole, has been rescued, and even though he is badly injured, he is still in trouble with the law. Garvey knows that he burned the shelter, “the billowing flames devoured the supplies and the shelter,” p. 30, so Cole had ruined his chance with the Circle Justice plan. I think that Cole will go back to court and go back to jail unless he can somehow prove that he has changed. “From now on he (Cole) would speak the truth.” p.111. Even though Cole has changed he still needs to pay for his crime.
