This program incentivizes participation in high-demand CTE programs through a point system, awarding funds based on student achievements and program quality. Schools collaborate with Regional Coordinators to utilize allocated funds for program improvement and student recruitment.

How it happens • “Point” system • 1 point for any student who has earned 3 or more credits in a high wage and high demand CTE Program of Study. • 1 point if that student is historically underserved. • 1 point if a students has earned an approved Industry Recognized Credential.
Qualifying programs • Approved CTE Program of Study. • At least 3 credits. • High wage and high demand.
Data • Submitted by districts in June. • Processed by ODE. • Work with districts on data errors • Create final list meeting criteria • Submit to CTE Regional Coordinators for reality check. • Credentials • Submitted in Technical Skills Assessment (TSA) field (CRED) OR • Submitted through spreadsheet
Award • Total points statewide divided into available funds to calculate per point award. • Award amount • Per point per program • $2,000.00 minimum • $45,000.00 maximum
Using the money • Support for the program that earned the money. • May support recruitment of students from middle school • May support connections to postsecondary programs • Should support improving CTE program benefit to historically and currently marginalized student groups • Few limitations on use. • Can’t be used to replace previous district funding. • Can be used to replace expired grant funding.
Process • Teacher, administrator, Regional Coordinator (RC) • Agree on use of funds (can/should involve stakeholders such as students and business and industry advisory) • Sign assurances • School or RC completes application in Smartsheets • RC approves program. • School submits final documentation in Smartsheets at end of school year.
Regional Coordinator Roles - Summary • Collaboration with programs • Application (planning and approval) • Data checking • RC institution receives $300.00 per qualifying program to use at the discretion of the RC.
