  2. Impact We coped! • ULHT did not need to go on black alert • We placed over 80 people in 8 week peak • Equivalent to 4 wards • OOH/WiC/SPA/Patient Flow teams = pressure valve • Established strong partnership working • GP communication system redesigned (gateway)

  3. We moved from a blame culture to a solution focussed culture

  4. Lessons learnt from Lincolnshire • Get the players together and agree team work (it is likely to deliver better results) • Agree the rules up front and be consistent in their application • Invest to save • New ways of working • Do it all year round (not just winter)

  5. How? • Teleconferencing • Senior leadership – make decisions • Relationships on the ground • Using skills differently • NHS buys social care – forcing function • Information • Commissioning support
