  3. Daily Routine • Circle Time • Warm-up • Stretch (3 lines) • Discussion about activity • Games/Activities • Line Up & marbles

  4. Warm-Up Favorites • I usually don’t use equipment for warm-up games so we can get going right away! • Partner Tag • Line Tag • Everybody’s It • Grouch on the Island • Shirt Tag • Triangle Tag

  5. Use what you have • I use the lines on the floor • Shirt colors of our uniforms • Pads on the walls • Basketball goals to mark courts • (notice the #3 on the backboard)

  6. New Games you may have not tried • Pickleball • Flag Wars • Capture the Chicken • Noodle Hockey • Trash & recycling • 1 vs 3 of anything

  7. No Noodles in My Backyard! This is a lead-up game to volleyball

  8. DANCE- where do I start?!? • Grandparents & Special Friends Day • Each grade learns one dance • We practice the month of October until that class has the dance down • We practice it as we are going to perform it- from start to finish every time. • After we “know” the dance it is used as the warm-up activity for that class until Grandparents Day • My personal favorite: Tony Chestnut!!

  9. Show me the $$$$$ • Field Day t-shirt sales fund the Physical Education program for the following year • Box Tops for Education funds playground improvements • Campbells Soup Labels for Education • Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart • Earn gift certificates from US Games • Spirit Wear Sales- because I help organize this my department earns a part of the profits

  10. Sportsmanship • In everything you do and say try to be the best sport you can be • Be a gracious winner and loser • Remember- It’s just a game!

  11. Communication • School’s Webpage: • www.stpeterscatholicschool.com • Personal Website- I use for athletics • www.myteacherpages.com • www.volunteerspot.com - awesome way to organize volunteers!!! Just try it  • www.renweb.com – Grading, e-mail, contact info, & attendance-Also has a new function like rainedout.com • www.rainedout.com– great for athletics!!! Sends a text if there is a field change, cancellation, etc. • These are some great resources we use… Anybody else have some they would like to share??

  12. Increase Time on Task • Have a routine!!! • Keep things moving • Know your stuff • Plan Planplan- • As sister Pat says “Plan your work & work your Plan”

  13. When the whistle doesn’t work… • Each kid starts on green, after a warning they move to yellow, then to red • The kids move their own color- removes them from the activity and helps them to think about why they are changing their card • Intentional physical harm to another is immediately a red • Time out worksheets are used to have students to put their actions into words. • Follow up with parents

  14. Athletics Not your normal athletic program: • Pep Squad • Jump Rope/ Hula Hoop Team • Booster Club

  15. My personal motto • Don’t be a part of the problem- Be a part of the solution
