  1. Hybrid Cars By: Kris Herrera

  2. Impact To The World • Improvement on the air quality emissions for vehicles powered by gasoline. • Has greater fuel efficiency reducing air pollution slightly

  3. Website • http://www.ocf.berkday.edu/~coreyp/hybridenvimp.html

  4. Impact cont. • Hybrid cars can use gasoline-electric; diesel-electric; totally full electric power.

  5. Estimated that at least 50% less gasoline fuel will be needed. • Low and subdued noise emissions.

  6. Website • http://www.cngcar.org/the-hybrid-car-environmental-impact-a-double-edged-sword/

  7. Are hybrid cars feasible and affordable? • Hybrid cars are feasible and affordable. They do have a decent price. Although they maybe a little more then the other cars they are more fuel efficient that will help in the long wrong.

  8. Random Info. • Because it is fuel efficient it helps the environment since it produces less air pollution then the other cars.

  9. Manufacturing • Hybrid cars are being manufactured throughout the world. They are building more hybrid cars each year.

  10. Are hybrid cars currently being used? • Everyday people are using hybrid cars. The only thing is they look exactly like the other cars but are more fuel efficient. They are all over the world and save people a lot of money in gas in the long run.

  11. Gasoline Power vs. Electric Power • A gas-powered car has a fuel tank, which supplies gasoline to the engine. The engine then turns a transmission, which turns the wheels. • An electric car, on the other hand, has a set of batteries that provides electricity to an electric motor. The motor turns a transmission, and the transmission turns the wheels.

  13. Hybrid Car Facts • Hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius produce 90% less pollutants than comparable non-hybrid cars. By putting less harmful chemicals in the environment, the harmful effects of pollution can be halted or even reversed • Hybrid cars show much lower depreciation rates than standard gasoline cars. They are now and will continue to be in extremely high demand, so hybrid cars keep their values very well, making a hybrid car a sound investment.

  14. Hybrid Car Emissions Information • Mid Sized Car • Emissions: • Toyota Prius 3.5 • Honda Accord 6.9 • Chevrolet Malibu 8.1 • Toyota Camry 7.2 • Mazda 6 7.0 • Nissan Altima 7.5 • Hybrid Car Emissions) • City MPG: • Honda Civic 48 • Honda Insight 57 • Toyota Prius 60 • Highway MPG: • Honda Civic 47 • Honda Insight 56 • Toyota Prius 51 • Emissions: • Honda Civic 4.1 tons • Honda Insight 3.5 tons • Toyota Prius 3.5 tons

  15. Why to buy Hybrid Cars • the hybrid vehicle relying on both the gasoline and the electric motors for peak power needs resulting in a smaller gasoline engine sized more for average usage rather than peak power usage. • hybrid cars having significant battery storage capacities to store and reuse recaptured energy, especially in stop and go traffic.
