Prioritize your tests • Spend more time studying what will be on the majority of the final • Start reviewing for finals 3 weeks before • Break studying up into increments, don’t cram the night before • Study what you know first and then move to more difficult material Reread the notes that the finals cover

  3. Study in a quiet place • Get enough sleep the night before • Teach the material to a classmate or family member • Take frequent breaks • Create your own study guide • Make your own practice test • Make your flash cards and notes ahead of time

  4. Study in groups • Review teacher’s study guide • Use websites like quizlet for vocabulary review • Practice going through the steps of a problem • Do extra practice problems • Try putting definitions and ideas in your own words

  5. Group concepts and ideas together that make sense to you • Associate new ideas with familiar ones • Use mnemonics and memory tricks • Be aware of the different kinds of questions that will be on the final (multiple choice, essay, etc.) • Read online notes about novels and other books read for review

  6. Make realistic goals for each study session • Color code your material • Find out what grade you need to get on the final to receive the grade you want for the semester • Prioritize your finals based on the grades necessary • Read chapters in the textbook that will be in final • Study material from study guide, don’t go overboard • Get plenty of sleep and have a good breakfast!
