GRANDEZZA E DECADENZA DEI COMUNI • I Comuni italiani avevano raggiunto un notevole sviluppo economico che si basava sull’artigianato, sul commercio e sulle attività finanziarie. • Mano a mano che i traffici e le attività economiche si sviluppavano, gli artigiani, i commercianti e i professionisti rivendicavano la partecipazione al potere comunale. Ne conseguono divisioni e continue lotte.

UN PODESTA’, L’ESPONENTE DI UNA FAMIGLIA PRESTIGIOSA, UN CAPITANO DI VENTURA. • DOVE? NELL’ITALIA CENTRO-SETTENTRIONALE. • QUANDO? TRA IL ‘200 E IL ‘300. • PERCHE’? IN RISPOSTA ALLE LOTTE POLITICHE DEL COMUNE: IL SIGNORE SI PONE COME UNA SORTA DI PACIFICATORE DELLE GUERRE INTESTINE NELLE CITTA’. • COME? IL SIGNORE CONCENTRA TUTTO IL POTERE NELLE SUE MANI, IMPONENDO A TUTTI IL SUO COMANDO.
