2.   U s e f u l L i n k s The Food Corporation of India was established under the Food Corporations Act 1964 and is responsible for various objectives mainly the nation-wide distribution of food grains and maintaining enough stock for the same. The FCI functions under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Govt of India. oThe FCI is also an important hiring organization that often conducts recruitment for various posts like that of Junior Engineer, Stenographer, Typist, etc. oThe interested candidates must however satisfy various conditions prescribed under the FCI Eligibility Criteria. oThe FCI defined eligibility in terms of age, qualification, experience, and nationality. oThe candidates can also read about various age relaxations which are applicable as per the Govt rules. FCI Junior Engineer Eligibility The post ofFCI JE demands engineering graduation. Engineers from any stream are eligible to apply. The candidates who are diploma holders can also apply provided that they have relevant work experience of at least 1 year. Criteria Eligibility Qualification Degree or Diploma in relevant Engineering Stream Experience One year experience in case of Diploma holders Age 18 to 28 years FCI Assistant Grade 3 Eligibility The FCI offers Assistant Grade 3 posts across various departments like Accounts, Depot, Technical, etc. Hence de- pending upon the department you wish to apply for, the requirement of minimum qualification will differ. However, irrespective of the dept., the candidates must possess computer proficiency. CriteriaEligibility AG - 3 (General/Depot): Graduation in any field + computer proficiency Qualifica- tion AG - 3 (Accounts): Bachelor of Commerce + computer proficiency AG - 3 (Technical): 2

Tech / BE in Food Science / Food Science and Technology /Agricultural Engineering / Bio-Technology Experi- ence NA Age 18 to 27 years FCI Stenographer Eligibility The candidates must have completed their graduation in Computer Science or Computer Application. Those gradu- ate candidates who do not possess the said qualification can also apply, provided that they have the required certifi- cation. The candidates applying for FCI Stenographer must also possess the below-given typing and shorthand typ- ing speed. Criteria Eligibility Qualification oGraduation +"O" level qualification of DOEACC OR oDegree in Computer Science/ Computer Application oTyping speed of 40 WP Mand 80 WPM in typing and shorthand respectively Experience NA Age 18 to 25 years FCI Typist Eligibility The aspirants must have proficiency in typing in the Hindi language. However, candidates who possess knowledge of both English and Hindi typing will be preferred. This post does not require any experience and hence freshers are eligible to apply. There is no requirement for specific physical standards but the applicants need to un- dergo a Physical Efficiency Test. The candidates must be 8th Std pass. Criteria Eligibility Qualification 8th (middle) standard pass Experience NA Age 18 to 28 years FCI Eligibility - Nationality Along with the age limit and educational criteria, the applicant must also satisfy the nationality criteria. The appli- cant must be either of the following: oa citizen of India oa subject of Nepal oa subject of Bhutan oa Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before the 1st January 1962 with the permanent settlement intention. oan Indian origin person migrated permanently from oPakistan, oBurma, oSri Lanka oKenya, 4

FCI Age Relaxations The candidates who do not fall under the mentioned age limits need not worry as the FCI also offers age relaxations to certain categories of candidates.
