MAIN CONCEPT THE FINDING: So far refugees receive limited or no support by the receiving countries in terms of preparation for their final destination countries THE CONCEPT: The effective and efficient use of time young refugees spend in receiving countries, in order to support their integration in their final destination (host) countries KICK-OFF MEETING 15 &16.11.2017 – Athens, OAED Offices

MAIN OBJECTIVE – CONTEXT • To directly and effectively meet young refugees’ integration needs, in order to prepare them for integration in the host societies and labor markets • To develop an effective system for social support and rapid integration of refugee populations, through distributing actions and delivering services to beneficiaries, throughout the refugee journey.   5. TARGET GROUP YOUNG REFUGEES - AGE 16-24 • Subpopulation A: Young people over 16 years old awaiting resettlement or family reunification • Subpopulation B: Young Adult asylum seekers with legal residence during the application review. KICK-OFF MEETING 15 &16.11.2017 - Athens, OAED Offices

OBJECTIVES • To develop structures and methods to prevent young refugees from NEET status • To early profiling young refugees, focusing on skills and competences needed • To actively involve young refugees via personalized approach, counseling, vocational guidance and linguistic-intercultural training actions KICK-OFF MEETING 15 &16.11.2017 - Athens, OAED Offices

OBJECTIVES • To promote knowledge and exchange of experience between receiving and final destination (host) countries regarding requirements and integration mechanisms of host societies • To develop good and innovative practices that enable the target groups to quickly enter the labor market, in line with the needs and characteristics of the host countries’ labor markets and in conjunction with the needs and capabilities of refugee populations • To provide target groups with the necessary social and horizontal skills for their integration in the labor markets

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS IO1:TURKISH BACKGROUND REPORT ON YOUNG REFUGEES – MoNE (DEC.17-FEB.2018) A National Report (Turkey case) mapping current implementations and efforts to include Syrian youth both in VET and employment through vocational courses. Aim: To prepare a guideline for employment and training needs of the Syrians and solution packages for the most needed sectors KICK-OFF MEETING 15 &16.11.2017 - Athens, OAED Offices

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS IO2: GERMAN LABOUR MARKET FOR YOUNG REFUGEES – DEKRA Akademie (DEC.17-FEB.2018) Germany: A potential relocation country for young refugees Focus on labor market needs, in particular on professions, skills and competencies actually needed for integration of refugees/ newly arrived migrants (age 16- 24) in the national and regional labor market. INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE PILOT IMPLEMENTATION • 90-hour course (three weeks, i.e 15 days, 6 hours/day) • Addressed to 40 young refugees/asylum seekers, age 16-24 • Two courses of 20 students each: two (2) hours, for presentation of qualifications/professions and relevant working environments four (4) hours, for visit/workshops at Schools Laboratories, demos, materials’ use • Last two days - Counselors and Vocational Guidance Professionals: • Assessment session of the program • A discussion and reporting on desires and suggestions of participants on further vocational education and training actions KICK-OFF MEETING-15 &16.11.2017 - Athens, OAED Offices

MAIN RESULTS/OUTPUTS • One (1) Vocational Guidance Guide -for professional and trainees • One (1) Training Manual on linguistic and inter cultural issues, addressed to the target group concerned – transferable to other eventual beneficiaries • One (1) Training Guide on linguistic and inter cultural issues, for practitioners in the field with appropriate for the target group methodology and tools __________________________________________________________________________________ • Two (2) Project Ext.
