  5. LEGENDS The Story is based on REAL PEOPLE, and REAL EVENTS. Something in the story is MAGICAL and UNREALISTIC The LEGEND did something HEROIC

Starts with “ONCE UPON A … ” Once upon a fairytale … • Something MAGICAL happens • Involves at least one ANIMAL that behaves like HUMANS • Has a HANDSOME PRINCE, or a KING, or an EVIL STEPMOTHER, • or a FAIRY GODMOTHER. • Has a BAD character trying to KILL the GOOD character • The prince RESCUES the girl • GOODwins over EVIL • Ends with “And they lived happy ever after”
