  2. OUTLINE • Successes • Challenges • Support required from DEDT & DCOGTA • LED Benchmarking Implementation Plan

SUCCESSES • LED Forum re-established in November 2012 • Set dates for future meetings i.e next date is 17 May 2013 • Availability of TOR • Representation of stakeholders (LMs, Business Sector & Government departments). • Sharing of LED Framework document with Forum members • Availability of LED Plans i.e LED Benchmarking Report & Implementation Plan – To be adopted by the Council • One on one meetings with LED Forum stakeholders

  4. CHALLENGES • Poor attendance by some LMs • Lack of sufficient human resources and budget • District LED Strategy needs to be reviewed

  5. Support required from DEDT & DCOGTA • Continuous support financially and technical to implement projects & sustainability of the Forum • Reviewing of the District LED strategy • Establishment of Development Agency to fast track Agricultural Development & Fresh Produce Market • Better alignment of LED Local, District, Province and National Plans • Implement BR & E Programme across sectors and the District
