  4. “You are in the post to provide leadership and management for your team in order to secure high quality teaching and thereby raise standards” You need to have: High expectations An accountability mind set A wider vision Clear policies and procedures Excellent communication skills • You need to be: • A highly effective teacher • A good role model • Enthusiastic • Child centred • Clear about what you want to do • Prepared to monitor and evaluate • Prepared to reward • Able to inspire, trust and confidence

  5. Leading as a Practitioner You need to be the lead practitioner within the department. Your planning, lessons, drive, determination sets the standard for others to aspire to:

  7. Create a Vision “A vision will move an organisation forward from where it is now to where it would like to be. A precise goal is more credible than a vague dream. A vision should be realistic and attractive to all parties involved.”
