The Industrial Revolution • During the Industrial Revolution, new machines and methods dramatically changed the way that goods were produced. • The flying shuttle, spinning jenny, and cotton gin all changed the textile industry. • New inventions saved time and work, improved transportation and communication, and contributed to the development of the factory system. • How did the factory system and industrialization lead to support for laissez-faire business policies?

The Industrial Revolution • Industrialization and the factory system brought a new way of life to Europe and America. • The growth of cities developed from the advancements of machines used in factories because people moved to where the jobs were located. • Life for factory workers was much different from that of the middle class. Identify the differences.
