They name it “Charity Organizations Society”. Delaware United Way was founded in 1965 and started with twenty two agencies
MISSION AND VISION The United Way of Delaware Mission: To improve the quality of life for all Delawareans and to eliminate the root causes of Delaware’s most pressing social problems in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties. Vision: To be the leading catalyst for positive social and economic change in Delaware.
TARGET POPULATION Delaware is centered On three focus areas: Education Income Health
EDUCATION Enter school ready to succeed Read proficiently by 4th grade Make a successful transition to middle school Graduate from high school on time Be ready for success in college, work and life
INCOME United Way of Delaware's Financial Stability initiative centers on: Increasing income Building Savings Gaining and sustaining assets
HEALTH United Way of Delaware supports programs to help all Delawareans have access to health care.

INTERN’S ROLE Help develop relationships between faith based partners and Sussex County School Districts. Assist in developing raining materials and presentations for meetings and training. Coordinating and speaking at public events, including town hall meetings.
