STEREOTYPES OF JAPANESE DRAMAS Unlike Korean dramas, where characters die slow, tragic deaths, in Japanese dramas, when a character is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, he/she usually eventually recovers. Unlike Korean dramas, where cars often like to hit or run over a character, in Japanese dramas, when a character is crossing the street to meet a lover, he/she usually makes it across alive. Most Japanese dramas focus on current real-life issues, so that they can directly pertain to the audience.
