  2. Introduction • Discuss what it means to dropout of high school and the consequences • Discuss the current statistics • Discuss personal goals and school-wide goals • Discuss current DPS school interventions

Possible Effects of Dropping Out • Unemployment: High percentages of young people who dropout are either not employed or are not even in the labor force • Lower income • Engagement in high-risk behaviors • Driver’s License: A driver’s license or a learner’s permit may not be issued to an individual less than 18 years of age who is considered a dropout.

  7. Rap and Hip Hop Stars Who Went to College Lil Wayne • Lil Wayne attended the University of Houston (UH) for part of 2005 until schedule conflicts forced him to drop out.
