  4. Historical events of scotland In 1744 AD, the world´s first golf club, the honourable company of edinburgh golfers, was founded. In 1965 AD, Tay Road Bridge opened, for a short time the longest bridge in the world at just over one mile.

  6. The goverments of scotland are: The Scottish Government is the devolved administration for Scotland. It is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, environment and rural affairs, and transport.

  8. Typical Climate • Scotland has a very changeable climate. One minute the sun could be splitting the stones, the next minute it could be lashing rain.

  10. festivals The Fringe is an extremely popular side of the Edinburgh International Festival with over 1.25 million tickets being sold every year. The Hogmanay Festival is essentially a new years celebration with a difference. This festival takes place on the 31st of December every year and is phenomenally well supported and raucous.

Every summer a unique four-day celebration is held in the Hebrides of Scotland. • Every year people gather from all over the world to enjoy the Edinburgh International Jazz & Blues Festival. • Both adults and children have inquiring minds and the Edinburgh Science Festival is the perfect place to quell that curiosity • The Glasgow Jazz Festival is sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland and runs for approximately 9 days during the month of June.
